Quickstep is the fastest and most dynamic of the dance of the European program. This dance does not have romantic waltz or tango conflict, everything is happy, carefree and harmonious. Quickstep appeared during the first World War in the suburbs of New York, originally performed by African the dancers. And after its debut at the American Music Hall, and became very popular in dance halls. Foxtrot and Quickstep have a common origin. In the twenties many bands played slow – Foxtrot too fast, which caused many complaints among the dancers, so the foxtrot was reborn in a new dance trend – Quickstep.
